Glorious Rehabilitation Centre established in 2002 provides an opportunity to poor Children to access education as a human right and offers formal education to over 260 children from 3 to 18 years. It is situated in Dandora Nairobi, Kenya - the second largest informal settlement in Kenya with a population of 500,000 people. The Centre caters for children who are unable to join public primary schools in the slum because of poor socio-economic background of their parents. The centre was an idea born out of need and started so small with 10 children without any funding from any source, waded through murky waters, has been accepted by the community, the CSO partners and presently accepted by Government. This idea has been embraced by community, Government who now provide a meal a day and has taken over 40 children to joined public secondary schools. KAACR played a lead role in strengthening Glorious on policy & child participation to enviable levels. Anne Anyona - Director & Founder
