In collaboration with the Museum Services Basel, the project museumssterne*** – basel museums open to people with disabilities was realized. The project aims to help implement the new equality law regarding the requirements of disabled and older people through innovative exhibitions.
Wherever people campaign for others quality of life increases. This is particularly important for people with disabilities. Step-free entrances, wide hallways, large-print lettering and clear descriptions make cultural life easier for people with disabilities and the elderly. A museum implementing the equality law by such measures say welcome! to the disabled and older people.
Museums sensitive to the needs of people with disabilities and the elderly, involving them creatively, are awarded a museumsstern***, a museum star. This label honours the museum’s dedication and enhances its image and role model function. The prize money supports the realisation of the museum’s projects.
