In Dutch society there is a strong focus on empowering citizens thereby allegedly helping them to stay included into society. Jarabee, a youth care organization aims to mirror the process in society in its organization; to be able to realize inclusion for clients, professionals should work in an inclusive manner. Jarabee aims to transform from a rule-based to a value-based organization. In the current workshop we present and discuss this ‘expedition’. In the first part of the workshop we focus on Dutch societal developments and its meaning for youth care. We then present the process Jarabee has gone through and our study on where Jarabee stands when it comes to being an inclusive organization. How did professionals and the organization change their working routines? What is the importance of dialogue? In the third part we would like to discuss the challenges organizations encounter when transforming into an inclusive organization. Are all employees able to be an inclusive professional?
