Reaching 'social inclusion' is a difficult process. Even the most experienced youth care organizations face problems when it comes to improving the situation of young people with fewer opportunities. Their programs don’t always lead to 'inclusion'. The question is what these young people really want and need. FICE NL believes that young people growing up in the youth care system are experts by experience. They are an important but so often missing link in the process of finding solutions and policy-making.
Therefore FICE NL has enabled these young people to speak out and generate awareness among policy makers about their need to grow up 'inclusive'. FICE-NL has found a method to promote the participation of these youngsters in the policy- en decision-making process. In the workshop participants of the project present the project-method and -results. They debate with the attendees about inclusion and the importance of the participation of young people in policy-making processes.
